LES SUCCESSEURS DE BRUCE LEE ET L'HISTOIRE DES ARTS MARTIAUX DANS LE CINÉMA OCCIDENTAL Contemporain de la blaxploitation, le triomphe de Bruce Lee dans Opération Dragon entraîne la mise en chantier de nombreuses séries B américaines. En Europe, l'affaire a démarré au début des années 1960 avec l'explosion du cinéma d'espionnage. La castagne se poursuit sur le vieux continent jusqu'au début des années 1980 avec les films de Jean-Paul Belmondo et, plus encore, ceux du duo Terence Hill et Bud Spencer, sans oublier la BD Dr. Justice. La suite est assurée aux États-Unis grâce au succès de Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal et Jean-Claude Van Damme. Le retour de Hong Kong à la Chine entraîne une éphémère immigration d'acteurs et réalisateurs chinois à Hollywood. En 2004, Quentin Tarantino tourne en Chine son célèbre hommage au genre : le diptyque Kill Bill. L'ouvrage est complété par une série d'entretiens exclusifs avec les protagonistes de cette aventure cinématographique : Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Steven Seagal, Rob Cohen et Joel Silver.
